MMR – painful medicine either way Posted by: melanie
Today I took my one-year old for his MMR vaccine. I was full of trepidation but the little chap was fine, after the initial shock of being jabbed with a needle had subsided.
While the MMR has become a contentious subject, when you do a Google search you will find that it’s not just the childhood injection that is causing concern. The Mortgage Market Review (also confusingly known as the MMR) has for a while been causing a stir of its own in the mortgage and property worlds.
We don’t know what the final outcome of the MMR will be (I am from now on referring to the mortgage version, not the vaccine) just yet but the final report is due any day now. Will it mean the final death knell for interest-only mortgages? Or will the Financial Services Authority stress once and for all that it never meant for interest-only mortgages to disappear completely when it questioned them in an earlier version of the review?
